This work explores the analogue as a site of friction within adigitized economy. The exhibition argues that digital systemseliminate ambiguity; in response, 0 - - - 1 - - - 0 presents amechanical loop that refuses to resolve. By automating theshoeshine box, a symbol of visceral, manual trade, the piececreates an uncomfortable space between human presence androbotic absence.The concealed actuators and metallic wooden hands simulatea gesture of care that is rendered cold by automation. Thisuncanny motion exposes what the digital cannot compute: thedignity and specific weight of physical labour. Rather thanoffering the precision of a digital solution, the artwork lingerson the absurdity of the "shine-dirty-shine" cycle. It functions asa generative mode of resistance, forcing the viewer to witnessthe tangible, repetitive effort that modern systems seek torender invisible.
