Home first to an 11th c. necropolis upon which Hieronymite monks built a shrine in the 16th c., the valley of Valderemelluri has sheltered people for many centuries. The Rodríguez family has now taken it upon themselves to restore the land to its former glory after it was confiscated, parceled off, and sold to the highest bidders after the Spanish Civil War. The Reserva shows a classical tasting profile for Tempranillo - bursting ripe black cherry and tart black currant combined with notes of Chinese spice. The wine shows beautiful development in its age with aromas of leather, tobacco, and cedar. Pairings: Roasted venison loin with prunes and juniper berries
