A few pages have been created in collage format,--where original images have been pasted in--but all are done by hand in original Spencerian penmanship, as well as inked alphabets with extensive flourishes. All drawings, including maps, portraits and leaves are original, hand colored art. While this is a bound book, it was never released or published. This is a genuine, original work of a master penmen and calligrapher, created in the 1840's. The original book is in good condition--and available for purchase as well--with the usual foxing and cover deterioration which come with age. The binding is sturdy and all pages are secure within it. The inner pages are clean and unblemished; however, a few pages have small bends and tears to the outer edges. The book is full and each page has a different design/ illustration, except two blank pages at the very back--presumably left unfinished. Please see our photos for a closer look at this rare piece!
