The Adafruit Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield drives up to 4 bi-directional DC motors or 2 stepper motors, plus 2 hobby servos, from an Arduino. It uses TB6612 MOSFET drivers rated 1.2 A per channel (3 A brief peaks) and a dedicated PWM chip controlled over I2C, so it needs only the SDA and SCL pins. The shield board comes assembled and tested; you solder on the headers and terminal blocks. Key Features Up to 4 DC motors or 2 stepper motors (unipolar or bipolar) 2 connections for 5V hobby servos TB6612 MOSFET drivers: 1.2 A per channel, 3 A for ~20 ms peaks, thermal shutdown Motor supply 4.5–13.5 VDC I2C control: only SDA and SCL needed Stackable up to 32 shields via 5 address-select pins Polarity-protected power terminal block; reset button on top Specifications Brand Adafruit Motor drivers 4 H-bridges, TB6612, 1.2 A each (3 A peak ~20 ms) Motor voltage 4.5–13.5 VDC DC motors Up to 4, 8-bit speed control Steppers Up to 2; single, double, interleaved or microstepping Servos 2 × 5V hobby servo connections Interface I2C, addresses 0x60–0x80 (jumper selectable) Terminal wire size 18–26 AWG Assembled size 70 × 55 × 10 mm (2.7 × 2.1 × 0.4 in) Tested with Arduino UNO, Leonardo, ADK/Mega R3, Due, Diecimila, Duemilanove SKU 01ADMSAK What's Included Assembled and tested shield Terminal blocks Plain header Jumper What You'll Need (Sold Separately) Arduino board Motors and/or servos Stacking headers (only to stack shields) Soldering tools Ideal ForRobots, CNC experiments, camera sliders and other multi-motor Arduino projects. Frequently Asked QuestionsAre motors included? No. Motors and servos shown in photos are not included. How much soldering is needed? The shield is assembled; you only solder on the headers and terminal blocks. Can I stack several shields?Yes. Five address-select jumpers allow up to 32 shields on one Arduino, using stacking headers sold separately. Terminal block color may be blue or black.
