After two months the group had completed seven songs, enough to start playing live. But they needed a demo. They were using a Fostex 4-track cassette recorder to document practices. The band decided, as an experiment, to see if they could capture the sound in their rehearsal space before committing to a traditional recording studio. With a half a dozen mics and a borrowed compressor, they spent a weekend tracking and mixing this demo, which was deemed "good enough" to pass around, send to clubs, and try to get some local press. Nearly 30 years later, Lather Up And Splatter has been remastered and pressed on vinyl, at the suggestion of a local music writer who recieved the cassette copy in 94.
