A 2014 ES-335 Dot Plain Top has arrived! This guitar was crafted at the Memphis factory—which, much to everyone’s regret, closed its doors in 2018—a facility that produced many semi-hollow and full-hollow models such as the “ES-335” and “ES-175.” It features classic wood combinations: a laminated plain maple/poplar/maple body, a mahogany neck, and a rosewood fingerboard. The neck features a 60s-style slim C profile, offering exceptional playability. It is equipped with a 57 Classic pickup, whose full-bodied, presence-rich sound pairs perfectly with the rich resonance of the hollow-body design. Its thick, warm tone and rich midrange also make for an appealing driven sound. Overall, there are moderate signs of wear, including scratches, dents, playwear, age-related cracks, and tarnished hardware. Additionally, there is some paint peeling due to age near the strap pin on the body end. The hard case has minor damage and some discoloration. When looking inside the body through the soundhole, you can see a faint grain pattern—a detail that owners will surely appreciate. Although it shows signs of use, it’s still in great “player’s condition” and ready to be played!
