The Danfoss 034L0141 KVC 12 is a professional-grade hot gas bypass regulator engineered to modulate compressor capacity in response to varying evaporator loads. Designed for installation in a bypass line between the high and low-pressure sides of a refrigeration system, this 1/2" flare controller ensures a stable minimum suction pressure by injecting replacement capacity directly into the suction line. Its hermetic brazed construction and stainless steel bellows provide the durability required for demanding commercial HVACR environments. The valve features a pulsation damping design that protects the internal components from mechanical fatigue, ensuring consistent evaporator pressure control even under rapid load fluctuations. Compatible with a wide range of refrigerants including R22, R134a, R404A, and R407C, the Danfoss KVC 12 valve maintains an adjustable regulation range of 0.2 to 6.0 bar (3 to 87 psig), making it a versatile solution for preventing short cycling and maintaining precise temperature control in low-load conditions. Key Benefits: Precise Modulation: Effectively matches compressor output to actual evaporator load to prevent evaporator icing and erratic cycling. Robust Construction: Features stainless steel bellows and a hermetically sealed body for long-term reliability in high-pressure environments. Integrated Damping: Built-in pulsation damping device minimizes noise and vibration, extending the service life of the 1/2" flare connections. Refrigerant Versatility: Suitable for standard HFC and HCFC systems, providing flexible application across various refrigeration setups. Adjustable Range: Provides a flexible regulating range from 3 to 87 psig, allowing technicians to fine-tune the system's low-pressure floor. Common Questions: How do I set the opening pressure on the Danfoss 034L0141? The KVC 12 is factory-set to 2 bar (29 psig). To adjust, remove the protective cap and turn the setting screw; clockwise increases the pressure setting (higher suction pressure), while counter-clockwise decreases it. Where is the KVC 12 typically installed? It should be installed in a bypass line between the discharge line and the suction line, usually after the evaporator. For systems where discharge temperatures may exceed limits, a liquid injection valve is often used in conjunction. Does this regulator require a specific mounting orientation? While it can be installed in various positions, it is recommended to install the valve with the flow in the direction of the engraved arrow and the bellows housing pointing upwards to prevent oil trapping.
