The Danfoss 034L0147 KVC15 is a high-performance hot gas bypass regulator designed to provide precise capacity regulation by matching compressor output to actual system load. Utilizing a 5/8" ODF solder connection, this KVC 15 regulator injects discharge gas into the low-pressure side of the system, maintaining a minimum suction pressure during low-load conditions. This prevents short cycling and protects against evaporator icing, ensuring stable operation in refrigeration and air conditioning circuits. Engineered for CFC, HCFC, and HFC refrigerants, it features a hermetic design and pulse-damping properties that extend the service life of the compressor. The unit operates via a direct-acting mechanism, allowing for fine-tuned hot gas bypass valve adjustments between 0.2 and 6.0 bar. For technicians, the Danfoss KVC15 provides a reliable solution for maintaining compressor modulation and system equilibrium, even under extreme load fluctuations in commercial HVACR applications. Key Benefits Ensures constant suction pressure to prevent evaporator coil freezing during periods of low demand. Minimizes compressor wear by reducing frequent on/off cycles through effective capacity control. Compact, hermetic construction with stainless steel bellows provides superior durability and leak prevention. Broad refrigerant compatibility including R134a, R404A, R407C, and R507. Quick 5/8" ODF connection allows for streamlined installation into discharge and suction line bypasses. Common Questions What is the adjustment range for the Danfoss KVC 15? The KVC 15 features a factory setting of 2 bar, but it is field-adjustable between 0.2 bar and 6 bar (approx. 3 to 87 psig) to match specific system requirements. Where should the KVC 15 be installed in the system? For optimal performance, the valve should be installed in a bypass line between the discharge line and the suction line, ideally injecting the gas into the evaporator inlet after the expansion valve. Does this regulator handle high discharge temperatures? Yes, the Danfoss 034L0147 is rated for medium and high-temperature applications, with a maximum working pressure (PS) of 28 bar and a maximum media temperature of 130°C.
