It then provides information on programs specifically designed for each individual client. This transition is well done and easily followed. Though the book was designed for the exercise specialist, it would also be of interest to the student, strength coach, physical therapist, or athletic trainer. The author is well suited to write this text in that he is an active professor, board member, speaker, and author on the subject of fitness and lifestyle management. The content covers the categories of client counseling, musculoskeletal assessment, personalized prescription for weight management and conditioning, as well as individualized programs for the injured athlete and those with medical problems. There are many useful handouts, questionnaires, and tables provided. There are also numerous references cited. I find this book very informative. It delivers information appropriate for the student learner, but also contains useful knowledge for even the seasoned athletic trainer or physical therapist.
