This is the AP MAB-04, a Custom Shop model from Aria (Aria Pro II). Manufactured by the Aria Custom Shop, this guitar was created using the “AP Order System,” which allowed for var ious customizations based on the AP model. It features a light ash body, a maple neck, a laminated maple fingerboard, 24 frets, a heel-less bolt-on joint, GOTOH tuners, a BTB-04 bridge, and an original JJ pickup layout with Volume/Balance/Treble/Bass controls, all finished in gold hardware. This Aria Custom Shop AP, which was part of the top-tier lineup back in the ’90s, boasts a wide range of tonal variations and excellent playability. The four knobs have been replaced, and there are signs of wear (including discoloration, minor scratches and scuffs, scuff marks and playing lines, picking marks, and discoloration, clouding, pitting, or rust on metal parts and screws, among other cosmetic damage). Set up upon arrival (cleaning, string replacement, truss rod adjustment, octave adjustment, string height adjustment, and pickup pad replacement); the frets are at a height that poses no issues for playing, and the truss rod has been checked to move smoothly up to 60° in both directions and is in good working order.
