Michael Landau, an ace of the session world, is known not only as a session player but also for his work as a solo artist and with Burning Water.Based on a 1968 Stratocaster owned by Landau, this guitar features a lightweight alder body, a custom C-shaped maple neck, a 7.25R rosewood fingerboard, narrow-jumbo 6105 frets, and Custom Shop Fat 50s pickups wound by “Josefina Campos.” Not only does it look the part, but its sound is also brimming with vintage character, making it a masterpiece that faithfully reproduces the player’s nuances. It features original relic finishing that replicates the effects of aging. The set screw for saddle string action adjustment and the rubber pads for pickup height adjustment have been replaced. It was set up upon arrival (cleaning, truss rod adjustment, string replacement, action adjustment, octave adjustment, and deburring); the frets are at a height suitable for playing, and the truss rod can be adjusted both tight and loose, with operation confirmed up to ±60°.
