A 2019 Gibson Explorer, manufactured in 2019. From the introduction of the Futura in 1958 through its reissue in 1975, the Explorer continues to share the spotlight with the Gibson Flying V as one of the most popular unconventional guitar designs. It features a mahogany body, a mahogany neck with a "banana head" profile, a rosewood fingerboard, and BurstBucker 2 & BurstBucker 3 pickups in a 2-volume/1-tone configuration. It is characterized by a rich, full-bodied tone, the exquisite combination of the BurstBucker 2 and 3, and a powerful, clear-cutting rock sound. Signs of use are visible (including impact marks, scratches, scuffs, wipe marks, picking marks on the pickguard film, rust on screws, and tarnish or pitting on metal parts, etc.).
