The Eureka Stockade, an uprising of gold miners in Ballarat is widely viewed as the most dramatic event experienced on Australian soil in the 19th century. To commemorate the event in 2004 the Royal Australian Mint struck an al/bronze "B" Brisbane, "C" Canberra mintmark, "E" Eureka, "M" Melbourne and "S" Sydney uncirculated dollar coins.
