The factory intercooler piping for the 1.6L Turbo has a small resonator pipe installed just after the turbo compressor outlet. We believe this is to reduce any compressor noises fo r the driver. You can see it in the CAD rendered photo below. The stock pipe is baffled on the inside which that creates a disturbance in air flow. Our replacement helps get airflow towards a laminar flow condition by reducing pressure drop, and results in slightly better throttle response and a couple horsepower over the rev range. It's not much, but every little bit does help. The plug is also made to exact OEM measurements for fitment. This ensures you have a direct, perfect fitting replacement. The Pipe is made from durable 6061-T6 Aluminum pipe with a .07" wall thickness. Show more
