1/8" Foam Polishing Bits: 5 Pack This 5-Pack of Foam Polishing Bits are designed for high performance and durability during metal restoration. Because they can get into all of the nooks and crannies that conventional buffing wheels or pads cannot, they are the perfect tool for hard to reach surfaces. Their tapered and compact design allows for polishing of intricate and angled surfaces such as wheel windows and the area between wheel spokes. After attaching these polishing bits to a multi-tool, drill, or any machine that can accepts a 1/8" bit and pair it with a liquid metal polish (such as our Renegade Red Liquid Metal Polish) and apply to the desired areas as shown below: *Prior to starting your drill or machine, it is important to insert the loaded bit into the wheel/project surface as shown below. this will help to minimize slinging and the deformation of the bit at high speeds that may cause it to blow apart.* **NOTE THAT THESE BITS SHOULD NOT BE RUN AT ANY SPEED HIGHER THAN 2500 RPM.** SEE THE VIDEO BELOW FOR PROPER USE GUIDELINES: The machine should be run at mid-speed while being used to coat and polish the windows of the wheel. Once the liquid polish has has turned a dark gray/black color from being work in, you may use a clean microfiber to clean and remove the polish from the surface. Should additional agitation be required, you may choose to use a coarser terry cloth towel. The video below offers more insight on how these helpful polishing bits should be used: Pro Tips: Lower RPM for polishing — prevents heat buildup, swirl marks, or burning softer metals like aluminum. Higher RPM for cutting — works well for initial scratch removal or blending. Always check the manufacturer’s max RPM rating — exceeding it can cause the pad to tear apart. If you’re using compounds, slower speeds often give better results for final shine.
