A very nicely made semi-portable engine, an older model of a rarely modelled prototype. Fitted with Stephenson's reversing gear, the engine runs well on air in either direction. Gi ven its age and patina, we've made no attempt to strip it for a boiler test - we suspect that any new owner will simply admire it on a bookshelf (as we're doing currently!) We love the little details on this one - double nutted bearing caps, eccentric strap oilers and air bottle on the water pump. Tantalisingly, having taken the trouble to fashion and fit a maker's plate on the smokebox the maker has left it blank - it would have been nice to have a name recorded for posterity. Show more
