The Shallow sized langstroth frames (5 3/8") are made from pine and feature a solid 1/2 in (13 mm) grooved bottom bar, which makes them suitable for either wax or plastic foundatio n. The side bars also feature 2 pre-drilled holes to allow for wiring of frames if required. Shallow sizes frames and supers are approximately 40% smaller than the more commonly used Deep size and are for this reason much easier on the back. They are also commonly used to make cut comb honey. Please check your hive sizes before ordering These frames come in both commercial grade and select grade wood. The commercial grade may have some superficial knots or discolourations in the wood. The Select grade is a higher grade knot free wood. Please note these frames come unassembled and unassembled.
