Signed F4U Corsair Matted Print, 19.25" x 11.75" - This signed matted print features the legendary F4U Corsair, the first single-seat fighter to exceed 400 MPH in 1940. Nicknamed t he “Bent Wing Bird” by U.S. forces and “Whistling Death” by the Japanese, it became the top Marine Corps fighter of WWII. The artwork highlights Corsair #56 “Sunsetter” from VMF-113, the “Whistling Devils,” stationed on Engebi Island in 1944. This aircraft is now part of the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum.
