by Louise B. Singer (Navajo) Lorenzo Hubbell, an early trader in Ganado, AZ, helped develop the "Ganado Red" Navajo rug style, favoring deep red hues inspired by Navajo blanket des igns. The rich red dye, often sourced through trade, remains a defining feature. Ganado Red rugs typically have a bold red background with black, grey, white, or brown accents, featuring a central diamond and corner triangles, along with traditional patterns like hooks and stair designs.
