With World War 2 coming to a close, the leaders of the victorious nations had a tough decision: how to deal with the war crimes of the Nazi regime? WWII was particularly hideous du e to the Nazis' large-scale efforts to extinguish an entire race of people. Many proposals for the reckoning came forth, ranging from shooting the Nazi leaders on sight to a full-scale trial with due process strictures. The victorious nations settled on a trial that fell someplace in between. In this course, we will weigh the authority of the nations in even conducting such a trial, the law applied, the due process concerns, and the final verdicts.
