This case is popular for bringing a balance of lightness and durability: it is constructed of a triple-ply shell, with an Airex skeleton trapped between a film of unbreakable plastic and an outside layer of sleek, metallic ABS (a thermoplastic polymer), making for a highly damage-resistant and rigid structure. The entire case is only 7.7 lbs. The Hightech Compact 3.5 is an excellent choice for travel; the interior features an elastic band that allows the endpin to be fixed in place when transported.
