100cm Katana Bokken Training Sword Unbreakable Polypropylene | 555g | Tsuba Included The 100cm Katana Bokken is the classic full-size training sword of the PP range — a virtually unbreakable polypropylene blade that closely mirrors a katana's proportions and balance for safe, serious practice. Ideal for kata, grip work and controlled partner drills, it delivers strength without the splintering, cracking or warping of a timber bokken. The reinforced, textured handle gives a traditional two-handed grip, the included tsuba adds hand protection and authenticity, and at 555g it strikes the balance between solidity and manoeuvrability that suits every level — from first kata to advanced kenjutsu. Most schools train at katana length; the tachi suits practitioners wanting extra reach and sweep for flowing forms. Is it really unbreakable?Polypropylene is a rigid, non-brittle polymer — under normal training use it won't crack, chip or splinter the way timber can. Virtually indestructible in the dojo, though not warranted against deliberate abuse. PP or wooden bokken — which should I buy?PP outlasts timber many times over, handles outdoor and wet conditions, and won't splinter on a hard block. Traditional red or white oak has the classic feel and is preferred by some schools — we stock both, so check what your instructor trains with. Is it suitable for partner work? It's built for kata and controlled partner drills under qualified instruction. It's a rigid trainer that carries real impact, so it's not intended for contact sparring — use control and appropriate protective equipment. Delivery Ships Australia-wide from our Sydney warehouse.
