Being a Translation from the German of the Record Books of the First Reformed Church of Easton, Pennsylvania, from 1760-1852 Here is a splendid record of German families in this pre-Revolutionary settlement. Illustrations of the interior and exterior of the church, facsimile pages of the record books and other historical documents, and portraits of the pastors enhance this volume. The records are presented as they appear in the original books; chronologically arranged and categorized into baptisms, deaths and burials, and marriages. The author inserted notations and comments within the actual records to indicate when a new pastor took over the record-keeping duties. This helps to account for the variations in name spellings and the difficulty of reading some of the handwritten entires. This edition is updated with the addition of a new surname index.
