Information on these Georgia families was collected from cemetery listings, census records, the Register of the Confederate Soldiers of Georgia, and several county and family histo ries. Data is presented in the form of chronologically arranged, brief biographical sketches which usually include dates of birth and death; names of parents; name of spouse(s), and date and place of marriage, if known. This is followed by a list of children with their birth and death dates and names of their spouses. The first two chapters cover the Ellis and Luke (MacLuke, Lucas) families. The Lukes were especially prolific and their family makes up the greater part of this book. Allied surnames include Alexander, Wynn, McMillan, Griffin, Griner and many more.
