Between 1858 and 1899, the Commercial published death notices of local citizens on a daily basis. These death notices are of great value to genealogical researchers since the city of Cincinnati did not keep any records of deaths prior to 1865, and until 1908, the records that were kept were not exhaustive. The information contained in each entry is name, death date, age, maiden name, publication date(s) and page number. The author has included an alphabetical list of women by their maiden names.
