Warren County, Kentucky was created in 1796 from an area which had earlier been a part of Lincoln County. Futher subdivisions took land from Warren County to help create both Barre n County in 1798 and Allen County in 1815. The county seat of Warren County is Bowling Green. The court records in Bowling Green date form 1800 and the District Court at Bowling Green has the files of naturalization records for that area. Families living in this area often used the services in the town nearest their home and it is not uncommon to find marriage records in Bowling Green for families residing in Barren County.
