The entries in this book were compiled from data found in the volumes entitled Record of Marriages that were created and maintained in the clerk's office of Supreme Court of the Di strict of Columbia (now named District of Columbia Superior Court). The entries show name of the groom and of the bride; the date of marriage or the granting of the marriage license; and the volume and page that contains that entry. In 1993, volumes 1-1052 (1870-1966) and 1-283 (1966-1990) were transferred from the Marriage Bureau, D.C. Superior Court, to the District of Columbia Archives. Dorothy S.
