At the time these deeds were written, Edgefield contained all or parts of the present counties of Aiken, Greenwood, McCormick and Saluda. Deed books contain not only land conveyanc es, but also powers of attorney, depositions, judicial sales and sales of household and farm equipment, livestock and slaves.
