Oldham County, Kentucky was created in 1823 out of the lands taken from Henry, Shelby and Jefferson counties. The history and biographies for this volume are taken from two older v olumes, History of Kentucky by Lewis Collins published about 1882 and Kentucky: A History of the State by W. H. Perrin, J. H.
