Weakley County, Tennessee was created in 1823 from the Western District and was named in honor of Col. Robert Weakley, a prominent pioneer of Middle Tennessee, a member of Tennesse e's first Legislature and Speaker of the State Senate in 1823. This volume contains a number of items collected by the WPA workers in the late 1930s and were compiled into one volume. There is James C. Harrell's Civil War Diary, History of Weakley County, some cemetery records and the muster rolls of the 2nd Regiment of the Tennessee Cavalry Company H and I. Example: From James C.
