Van Buren County in middle Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau was created in 1840 out of White, Warren and Bledsoe Counties. It was named for President Martin Van Buren. These cou nty court records for 1840 are the first actions taken by the court. There are a number of different types of records in this volume.
