Q: Why is the 10208ES agarose relatively soft? What is the reason for this? A: The firmness is related to the gel strength. Agarose is extracted from agar, and there will always be some variation in strength levels; it is impossible for every batch to be identical. The gel strength specification for this agarose is $\ge 1200$, and as long as it is above this range, it is considered qualified. Q: Why do the bands appear smeared when using 10208ES? A: The gelling time may have been too short, resulting in an uneven gel. For a 1% agarose gel, the minimum gelling time is 30 minutes.
