Peter Shire introduced us to Mr. Ettore Sottsas. Along with Sottsass and Barbara Radice, Shire was invited to Milano to meet all the designers involved with Memphis. This gathering led to their second collection, "Memphis Designers for ACME," named by Sottsass.The result was a collection of over 100 designs that revolutionized jewelry design in the 1980s. Many of the designs are in the permanent collections of several museums. The entire collection was accepted in the permanent collection of the Groninger Museum of the Netherlands.This brooch was made in the 1980s using the intricate cloisonné process. Any imperfections within the colors are to be expected and inherent to the process which makes each piece unique and special. Silver plated stainless steel backing 2 x 2 inches
