Green hardback (gilt lettering to the spine, small mark, nicks and dent on the edges of the cover and spine) in VGC, no Dj cover as issued. Illustrated with 48 costume b/w plates. Illustrations by Edward Handley-Read. Nice and clean pages with small ink marks, mark and light shelf wear on the outer edges, a couple of small foxing marks and creases on the edges of the pages, small foxing marks and pencil mark impression inside the front endpaper, previous owner's name written inside the second blank page of the book.
