This antique tansu credenza/sideboard has a solid wood case with carved burl-wood door panels. The sliding lattice (kumiko) doors and carved burl-wood panel doors are traditional t ansu sliding door joinery. (consistent with keyaki/zelkova, prized in Japanese furniture for its figured grain), The piece has hand-forged-style black iron hardware (pulls, latch plates, decorative studs), The black granite top was added later to allow it to function as a sideboard.
