Producer Mesta is a label owned by Fontana Bodegas Viñedos, a collective run by a single family from central Spain in a region called Ucles. Which sits at a high altitude, protecting the vines from the harsh summer rays. The region also receives relatively higher rainfall than surrounding areas, keeping the soil adequately quenched. The vineyards are all farmed organically, with sustainability at the forefront of all operations. The result is vibrant and varietal wines that reflect the region in which they come. Tasting Note Bright, lifted Tempranillo from high-altitude vineyards displays aromas of plum, black cherry, baking spice, and licorice. The palate carries on the same theme with juicy upfront fruit, medium body, and drying tannins. The wine is produced entirely in stainless steel and is mainly left to ferment naturally with gentle extraction.
