Producer Vincent Cirillio immigrated to Australia in 1946 from a winemaking family that dates back 8 generations. The plan was obvious when he arrived in Australia he would acquire a vineyard and produce wine to make money for his family. His vineyard was planted in 1848, and in the 80s, when many vignerons were pulling out their vines due to disease pressure, Vincent held strong and managed to keep his healthy. They are now the oldest Grenache and Semillon vines standing to date. The vineyard remains in the family name, although Vincent has since passed. Tasting Note Made this fruit from 100+ year old vines and under $30! Beautifully balanced Barossa Grenache with pure red berry fruit that's lifted and aromatic with bright acidity and a silky texture.
