Deceptive Bends is the fifth studio album by 10cc, released April 29, 1977 on Mercury Records. It was the first album recorded as a duo by Eric Stewart and Graham Gouldman followin g the departure of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme, with drummer Paul Burgess joining as a supporting player. Recorded at Strawberry Studios South and produced by Stewart and Gouldman, the album marked a more direct, streamlined sound for the band. The album includes the singles "The Things We Do for Love," "Good Morning Judge," and "People in Love," alongside the eleven-and-a-half-minute closing suite "Feel the Benefit," arranged and conducted by Del Newman. The instantly recognizable Hipgnosis cover artwork, featuring a diver carrying a woman along a jetty, remains one of the band's most celebrated sleeves.
