We have been unable to learn anything about the author of this touching sentimental poem, since no Mrs. H. Horace appears in a census or directory for Aylmer. The printer, David Ho dson, probably came to Canada with his regiment. A man named David Hodson, age 66, appears on the 1901 census, lodging with a family in Strathroy. Show more
