Jennings Tofel This early 20th century ink on canvas paper Expressive figure with lion scene is by Polish-born New York Expressionist Jennings Tofel (1891-1959). Tofel was a friend of Georgia O'Keefe and Alfred Stieglitz. He received an art grant to work in Paris in the 1920s. His work is in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian and the Whitney Museum of American Art. Tofel is known for his allegorical, Expressionist figurative scenes. Early 20th Century Ink on Canvas Paper 14"x15.5" framed, 7.5"x9.5" unframed Signed lower right. Good vintage condition.
