Frequently Asked Questions What does an end plate do?The end plate is the metal piece between the buffer tube and the lower receiver, secures the buffer tube to the lower. Standard end plates have no sling attachment. QD end plates ADD a quick-detach sling attachment point, letting you mount a QD-compatible sling. Why QD slings matter:QD (Quick Detach) sling swivels let you ATTACH and REMOVE the sling instantly, push button to detach. Traditional sling loops require threading the sling through. QD is faster, more secure, and the modern standard for AR-15 slings. Steel vs aluminum end plates:Steel ($4.99): more durable, heavier, slightly more expensive. Aluminum: lighter, slightly less durable. Steel is the better choice for hard-use rifles or anyone wanting maximum reliability. Standard AR-15 build/maintenance task, armorer's wrench typically required. Authentic Tacfire?YES, CSO carries authentic Tacfire product. Comes with full manufacturer warranty.
