For this performative conceptual work, he attempted to appear in the background of a ne wspaper photograph on 10 consecutive days, at least once daily. He accomplished this by studying the newspaper agendas for the forthcoming week and listening to police radio to learn of other potentially newsworthy events.In In de Krant, he succeeded in appearing in the newspaper on no less than seventeen occasions, though not on 10 consecutive days.Hans Eijkelboom's work is concerned with the way in which society presents itself in everyday appearance and how that appearance is stipulated by factors such as personality and social position. He documents these sociological enquiries by creating photographic typologies of faces, housing and clothing.
