This book deals with the wills of "OLD" Rappahannock County (Richmond and Essex Counties), not the Rappahannock County, Virginia that was created from the Northern portion of Culpe per County in 1833. These wills were not conveniently copied and recorded by the clerk in a set of books known as "Will Books", but were scattered through the Deed Books and Order Books. In selecting the wills, it was necessary for the author to read over all the record books of Old Rappahannock County, and all the early records of Essex and Richmond Counties. William M.
