The MC-404 CAE WAH was developed by Bob Bradshaw and Custom Audio Electronics, along with the Dunlop Crybaby design team, with the goal of creating a high-quality, versatile wah pedal using the finest components. It features two distinct Fasel inductors (coils) for a vintage sound with a strong high end and a rich low-mid range, typical of Jen Crybaby. It also features the built-in MC-401 Boost/Line Driver, providing flexible output level adjustments. The side-mounted kick switch controls inductor selection and boost on/off, while the LEDs on both sides of the pedal indicate the current status. This high-performance product features hardwire bypass, fully independent internal Q control pots and gain control, and long-life Dunlop "HOT POTZ" pots, making it possible only for DUNLOP, the world's leading wah pedal company, to achieve this. ■ Names and Functions of Each Part Input jack: Inputs the signal from the instrument's output. Output jack: Connects the processed signal to an output device such as an amplifier. DC input jack: Powers from a 9V AC adapter (sold separately) (center negative polarity). Toggle footswitch: Switches the effect on/bypass. VOLME knob: Sets the volume when boosting (up to +20dB). Inductor selector switch: Press the switch inward to select the yellow inductor (FASEL FL-01Y), and press it again to return the switch to the outward position to select the red inductor (FASEL custom model). LED indicator (yellow) - Lights up when a yellow inductor is selected. LED indicator (red) - Lights up when a red inductor is selected. Boost switch - Press the switch inward to turn the boost ON, and press it again to return the switch to the outward position to turn the boost OFF. LED indicator (blue) - Indicates boost mode ON/OFF (lights up when ON) LED indicator (green) - Indicates whether the effect is on or off (lights up when on) Q control (for yellow inductor) - Sets the frequency range of the yellow inductor. Q control (for red inductor) - Sets the frequency range of the red inductor. ■How to use Two different wah voices can be selected using the red kick switch mounted on the side (right side) of the unit. When the switch is outward, a custom red inductor (red LED on the left side) is selected, which deepens the bass sweep of the FASEL FL-02R, which has the classic CRYBABY tone. When the switch is inward, a yellow inductor (yellow LED on the right side) is selected, which emphasizes the treble.
