Original miscellany collated and edited by Samuel Johnson and William Oldys and published between 1744 and 1753, This volume is part of the 1808-11 edition which rearranged the mat erial into chronological order for the first time. The collection is really an assembly of miscellaneous literary works from poetry, history, and oratory that were part of the Earl of Oxford's library before his death.
