Jean de la Fontaine (1621-1695) was a French poet and the author of popular imaginative tales, or "fables." His fables are written in verse, a French tradition, and were divided in to 12 books over two volumes. this book is volume 2 and contains Fables numbered 7 to 12. Originally books 7 and 8 were published in 1678, books 9, 10, and 11 in 1679, and book 12 much later in 1694. Unclear the year of publication in this edition. Show more
