Architect William Russell Souter designed Hamilton's Cathedral of Christ the King, built 1930-1933 by construction giant Joseph Pigott. Pigott Construction also built Hamilton land marks like City Hall, the Pigott Building, and Copps Coliseum. This beautiful volume highlights the elegance of the building located on the north side of King Street West, Hamilton, overlooking the east side of Highway 403. It includes the opening address of Bishop John Thomas McNally, an enterprising man who was willing to go to great lengths to promote Catholicism in Hamilton, even building a new cathedral during the Great Depression.
