Artisan Moc artfully blends a variety of Coleus, Perilla, Grape, Pluchea leaves, and Petunia flowers to create a plate named "Triangle In Bloom," capturing the vibrant and colourful essence of nature. These charming flower and leaf printed plates are crafted by an artisan named Moc, who runs a small pottery workshop in Ho Chi Minh City. When we shared the idea of printing flowers on ceramics, Moc was so excited, as each design is personally selected and created by her. We respect her creative process and encourage her to design freely. After the sample pieces were fired, we collaborated to choose the most fitting flower and leaf designs. With nearly 5 years of experience in pottery, Moc's creations are known for her refined and warm colours. Each product is carefully handmade, crafted step by step. Moc selects high-quality white clay from the renowned Bat Trang village to ensure both reliability and the production of beautiful, distinctive pieces. The creation process begins with rolling the clay to a thin and even thickness to ensure a smooth surface. Moc then shapes each piece, with the shaping technique varying depending on the design of the flowers and leaves. Each product’s form is carefully crafted to bring out the unique characteristics of the chosen pattern. Once the shape is complete, Moc prints flower and leaf patterns onto the surface. These designs are thoughtfully chosen to complement the overall aesthetic. Then, glaze is meticulously applied to each petal and leaf, highlighting the intricate details of the design. Finally, the product is fired in a kiln at 1250°C to ensure durability and bring out the vibrant colours. The result is a high-quality, beautiful piece that is safe for food and drink use.
