The inspiration for this album would appear to be a work entitled: "Album Photo-Biographique du Clerge Catholique du Diocese de St. Hyacinthe," by Alphonse Denis, published around 1873. Charles Guay (1845-1922) may be best remembered as the author of the Chronique de Rimouski, the first history of the city and its region, published in two volumes in 1873 and 1874.
