Cleanskins come about when producers end up with extra wine due to high yields, a sub-contractor agreement falling through, or when the producer has more wine than they think they can sell under their own label. It's sold directly to us at a fraction of the price with no label; we put our label on it and start selling it, passing on the discount to our customers. Cutting out the need for distribution or marketing costs, its win, win for all. We hope you enjoy our frugal finds as much as we do. Tasting Note Geelong and Cabernet are not often good bedfellows, but old vines and great soils can do wonders for the grape. It has quite an assertive structure, but it's elegant and medium-bodied, with the tannins starting to give way to let the fruit and classic earthy flavours begin to shine. Starting to hit its straps, but you wouldn't go astray leaving a couple for a few years.
